Here is a short true story for you.

Anna is sitting on a chair without knowing what's going to happen. New hope, new treatment, new method , lots of expectations, and all that mixed with fear and insecurity.

Anna was told 3 months ago that  she had cancer spread into her kidneys and lungs and to many different parts of the body and that her life expectation was max half year.
So no wonder she was very confused and searched for help.

Then the practitioner entered the room. He did not look like she had expected, but rather like a business man with a suit and tie.
He sat down and asked 3 strange questions?
*    What's good in your disease?
*    What is the Benefit in having it?
*    What has changed in a positive way since you have the disease?

Anna was thunderstruck. She had no answer, and tried several times to return to her sad story she had told everyone in the past couple of weeks.
She tried to rectify the situation and tried to tell how bad everything was, but he interrupted immediately and repeated his questions.

After reflecting a while Anna came up with a few very vague answers.
*    Well I made up with my mum and she's now become a good friend.
*    I have started to learn about my body and eat differently
*    I am living more consciously, see more things.
*    I appreciate a smile more than I did before.
*    I have started to see other people and their problems.

Well if you see it this way all my life has changed.
*    I have called an old friend and apologized for a stupid thing that happened a year ago and we have found together
*    I smell flowers every time I walk by the flower shop which I never did before.
*    I appreciate the wind in my face
*    I do not worry so much about what to dress and what to buy next
*    I have more time than ever before
*    I spend time with those things I really want
*    I have learned to listen
*    I am reading different books
*    I have learned more about spirituality and living a conscious life
*    I am meditating with monks and learn to pray
*    I have picked up my old guitar and started to play.
*    My mum's cat has become a good friend
*    I am not working anymore and so have plenty of time to meet with friends
*    And on, and on, and on ..................................

Uplifted by the feeling that had overcome Anna she listed over 130 things.
And every time she thought she would not find any more, Marcus  encouraged her to keep going. He was very persistent and did not let go until ......

..... she struck gold and burst into tears of gratitude and appreciation when she realized that the DISEASE was not bad luck, or any form of evil.  Her cancer had completely transformed  her life. She had gained consciousness, love and meaning and most of all presence in the now. Most of the old problems had gone up in smoke and revealed themselves as pure confusion of ego. Her resentment and anger towards her mum had vanished and both realized the "other side".

When tears of gratitude rolled down her cheeks she felt a shift in her body. This shift was extreme but she did not know what this meant. She returned many times and repeated the same process until she could do it herself.

Well this happened almost 4 years ago and Anna just passed away last month.

Her last years were filled with LOVE, APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE and changed the course of her disease in a drastic way. She lived a conscious life and certainly  experienced more joy than many others find in 30 years or a whole lifetime.

*    Can you imagine what would happen if she would have known about this way of thinking a bit earlier and not only in the final stages of her disease?
*    Would she have searched for it?
*    Would she have realized the value of it?
*    Would she have practiced the art of Gratitude and Appreciation.

Where do you look for Positives in your life?
