The Role of the 8 Extras in Women's Lives/Maternity Print E-mail

2 day practical workshop presented by

Heather Bruce

Heather is bringing her nearly 30 years of experience in all aspects of obstretrics; as a long time writer and lecturer of all aspects of obstetric care, as a mother, a doula, a naturopath and a more classical/meridian style acupuncturist into the clinical practice – and how we can all find gyne/infertility practices easy and fun, as well as lucrative – through the use of OUR culture’s tools – including being woman with other women being part of this tableaux.

There are very practical clinical markers that any TCM practitioner can detect, via the info delivered in this workshop, to allow all stunningly successful pregnancies and birthing, thus maternal health and wellbeing outcomes.

What markers?

  • The state of jing/blood in front of you
  • Hair – falling/fading/thinning/decrepit
  • Teeth
  • Fingernails
  • Complexion
  • Vaginal lubrication
  • Warm feet at night

What these all mean, and how they can be easily (and cheaply) used, with or without the basal chart – and without hormonal assays – to predict fertility outcomes.

The Role of the Eight Extras in Women’s Lives and Reproduction is fully explained, with a group of four intertwining seminars.

At the completion of this, it is envisaged that the attendee will have access to all women’s lives through different eyes –ensuring that the practice of fertility/obstetric care is fairly foolproof.

Part 1 - Eight Extras – explains how the curious organs and their allied meridians actually function – in all aspects of a person’s life. This then forms the foundation, along with the Dr Shen models to the entire rationale behind treating all women in practice. By understanding what should have, and did not happen, we then have more tools to unpack, and reframe the lives that come before us.

It also gives clear indications as to why we should be ensuring that all who arrive for IVF assistance fully understand the jing impacts for themselves and their possible offspring.

This 3 hour presentation has been Heather’s signature in the last 25 years of teaching, and comes with extensive printed material.

It is being represented through the gyne lens, although is applicable for all in all ranges of conditions – in point selection and diagnosis.

Part 2 – “Women’s Lives” looks at all the modern repercussons of being a woman in our culture, how these impact on the blueprint she is living through, and how the symptoms of menstrual/sexual and fertility distress can be easily alleviate dthrough our understanding of common Dr John Shen themes.

Part 3 – “Pregnancy” looks at all the aspects of a well pregnancy – how to enhance the mother’s being throughout the pregnancy so that she is in a far better state of health after birthing – and how to negotiate the common medicalised panics throughout this pivotal time in her life. This is a deviation from the disease/differential diagnostic model, as it speaks to her WELLBEING and its enhancement; ensuring vastly less complications as maternity and the birth looms.

Part 4 – looks to “Unscheduled Mishaps” – both through the pregnancy and possible pre conceptual/fertility experiences.

This includes the metabolic disturbances and how to interface with alternative hormonal doctors, how to enhance thyroid functioning before these interventions may be required, and how to live well within the confines of a polluted, overly busy modern life. The sequale of medical birthing mismanagement is also intended for this section as the rates of maternal post traumatic stress/chronic unwelllenss and sexual indifference require explanation also.

EXPECTATIONS

That an understanding of why points are used, thus is altered, so that the Eight Extras, and their supervisory and other roles are taken into account with all treatment protocols and life plans.

At the close of this workshop, it is also envisaged that the participant will have placed in context, their own life story; the effects of the passage of time through their own inner libraries; and thus the effects these have as they play out in every aspect of who they believe themselves to be.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING?

Any acupuncturist/TCM practitioner who wonders how to unravel the tangles that some women present with. Anyone who is working with fertility and pregnancy and wishes to get an overall woman centred practical guide to all aspects of maternity/ woman centred care.

Whether you have just completed a course, or been in practice for years - this workshop offers a fresh look at life/love and needling.
